- Ensure all documents are signed and that your finance is finalised
- Obtain quotes from removal companies and book your chosen provider for moving date
- Prepare an Inventory of all your goods and store it with your valuables
- If renting, give your Landlord notice that you will be moving. You will need to give a minimum of 42 days notice
- Run down supplies of frozen and perishable goods
- Sell or donate to charity any items you will not be taking with you
- Have a thorough clean out including the garage and garden shed
- Organise the Post Office to redirect your mail
- Organise care for your children and pets on moving day

The Day Before:
- Defrost freezers
- Empty rubbish bins
- Drain most fuel from mowers/petrol weedeaters
- Thoroughly clean garden tools, mowers, golf clubs, outdoor furniture and bikes
- Empty vacuum cleaners
- Identify items not to be packed and place in one area
- Ensure washing machine taps are turned off
- Identify the items for your “Priority Cartons” – those items you want first on delivery
- Arrange a simple breakfast for move day and empty the dishwasher!
